Thats why we are handcrafting awesome beer in one of Northern Michigan’s greatest towns. Grayling, the heart of the north, is famous for fast canoes and cold water and that’s exactly how we make our beer. Fast and all over the place with no rhyme, reason or plan!
The mantra here in our town is HUP (Hurry up and Paddle) And that’s exactly how we brew! No, really, we brew fast because we can’t keep the beer in stock.
Come to the Heart of the North and enjoy a Paddle Hard brew. So paddle on in and cheers with us!

Hartwick Pines is rich in scenic beauty and different habitats. The principal features of this park are the 49-acre forest of Old Growth Pines and logging museum. There is ample subject matter for the sports person, photographer, or naturalist throughout the year.
With an area of 9,672 acres, Hartwick Pines is one of the largest state parks in the Lower Peninsula. The park’s rolling hills, which are built of ancient glacial deposit, overlook the valley of the East Branch of the AuSable River, four small lakes and unique timber lands. The principal feature of this park is the 49-acre forest of Old Growth Pines which gives the park its name. This forest is a reminder of Michigan’s past importance in the pine lumber industry as well as a source of inspiration for the future of our forests. The park is rich in scenic beauty and because of the different habitats it encompasses, there is ample subject matter for the sports person, photographer, or naturalist throughout the year. The park is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. year round.
Hartwick Pines Visitor Center & Logging Museum
The Hartwick Pines Visitor Center, at Hartwick Pines State Park, draws thousands of visitors, campers and school children each year to see one of Michigan’s last stands of majestic old-growth pine forest.
For many visitors, Hartwick Pines is a mystical place, offering a serene escape from the modern world, and the year-round, fully accessible visitor center is a gateway to the towering pine forest and the Hartwick Pines Logging Museum that helps us remember when “White Pine Was King.”
